Pre-training fucking: BEST pre-workout ever or silent killer of gains?

by | Feb 13, 2019

I

If you’ve ever asked yourself whether or not getting your pre-workout fuck on will negatively affect your gains, wonder no more; today’s article will break down what the science has to say about this topic.

Bros have been debating the merits of sexual abstinence in their quest for physical and athletic supremacy since the beginning of time. Even sporting legends like Tyson and Ali famously swore off sexual activity in the weeks leading up to their fights, holding fast to the idea that abstinence would boost their aggression, focus, and  training performance, but what does the science actually have to say about this matter?

Well… Not a hell of a lot to be honest…

  1. There doesn’t seem to be a big enough effect on testosterone to justify the idea that strength and performance will inevitably suffer (Kraemer, 1976)

  2. There doesn’t seem to be a big difference in VO2max [Nemec,1975]

In fact, there seems to be somewhat of a shift in the way the sports community as a whole views this particular issue; both athletes and coaches seem to be congregating around the idea that sex has little to no impact on physical performance, noting that sex may have a relaxing effect on athletes, and that the buildup of sexual frustration that results from abstinence may in actuality prove detrimental to overall training performance (Thornton, 1990).

Like in all things however, it will always ultimately be up to you to figure out what works for you. If you’re the kind of person that tends to pass the fuck out after you’ve gotten your rocks off, you may consider getting your freak on as far away as humanly possible from the time you allocate to your training sessions.

On a similar note, if you’re likely to squirt yourself the moment you see someone hot bend over to pick up their gym bag, you may want to, you know, get serviced before you stop foot in the gym ya fucking pervert.

At the end of the day, this entire issue scores fairly low on the hierarchy of importance when it comes to makings all the gains; so long as you’re making consistent progress over the weeks and months, it doesn’t really matter whether or not you’re blowing your load before or after your training sessions.

Focus on training hard, eating right, sleeping properly, and being consistent. Everything else is secondary at best.
